Christmas in Japan

Presently, I am sitting in an airport lounge room (like a rental living room) in Osaka having a rest before catching a flight to Sapporo, Hokkaido, the most northern part of Japan. Our flight is at 630am and the train schedule forced us to come here and stay the night. I am tired and this week was pretty chill so this post will be short.

The beginning of the week, my stomach was still feeling rough from the Korean food. Around Friday I started to feel a bit more normal

Thursday for Christmas we had a party for the kids students where I dressed up as Santa Claus and handed out gift bags. I was not feeling very well at this point, but I was able to enjoy the party. I never realized the weird looks kids give Santa. Some were really mean mugging me, some were just confused, and some were really happy. It was pretty funny.

After work I was beginning to feel normal and wanted to do something for Christmas day, so we went out for a glass of wine to celebrate the holiday.

Friday and Saturday went by nicely. Saturday night I went to a friends Xmas party in Osaka. Sunday I went to kobe for some Kobe beef. It was pretty good, but there wasn’t enough so we stopped at BK for some Whoppers and had another serving of “Kobe beef”.

Monday I tried to sleep all day then showed around some Irish friends visiting from another part of Japan. We went to Nara kind of late and it was raining pretty good so we didn’t see a lot. We went to see a friend’s band play last night in Osaka, and stayed out pretty late. Today I slept in and then packed some things for this trip.

Now I am in the airport ready to go. I just have to wait a few hours. I am very excited for this trip. It should be a memorable trip with good snowboarding conditions.

Thanks for reading. Have a great week.
